seeing as far as my heart will reach
what lessons you do teach
crossroads stand in the middle of time
you have left another dream behind
the pieces of me fall by the wayside
gathering on the desert’s tides
drifts formed on the wind build walls to climb
each one higher, reaching for the sky
seeing over them as far as my heart will reach
my friend what lessons you do teach
if I go right will I be wrong
if I go left will I be strong
if I stand still will love come again
if I take a step, will life begin
if I disappear
will it release your fear
seeing as far as my heart can reach
it is love that will teach
any direction will be the right one taken
for love joined in spirit will not be forsaken
as the sands of time build those drifts into walls
deeper within love we do fall
crossroads stand in the middle of time
each in a direction for love’s mystery to entwine
leaving traces of me to find
it is a lesson in love you teach
seeing as far as my heart can reach

In the quiet, we listen and there our heart speaks……… That is never subject to interpretation or another’s understanding (or lack of) for our love. It simply is as it should be. Love aspires only to love. This is beautiful, as always, Maryrose. ~ Love to you, Bobbie
Always so very soothing and lifting…full of a beautiful hearts passion! God bless!
Lovely, it truly is Love that teaches. I like the idea that we leave pieces of ourselves or our heartsong along the way.
I believe there will always be crossroads and choices to make. I also think when we choose in love no matter the direction we go, it will be where we need to be. Beautiful poem maryrose.
I’ve been sick and out of the loop so it felt very good this morning to have these beautiful words to read. Thank you. Hugs, Brenda

This is marvellous – for the message and the craftmanship (craftpersonship? craftwomanship?). It builds up like a quickening drumbeat. I just wonder whether it needs the rhyming couplets.
